Csaba Sár
Attorney at law, Managing Partner
Csaba Sár is the name partner and co-founder of the law firm. Although Csaba has considerable experience in all fields of intellectual property, including trademark and patent litigation, he acts primarily in copyright and media law cases, representing clients from the film industry, publishing houses and record companies procedures both before the court and out-of-court.
Professional Experience
Csaba graduated from Eötvös Loránd University’s Faculty of Law in Budapest in 1993. He subsequently joined the legal department of ARTISJUS, the Hungarian Copyright Bureau, where he specialised in copyright law, before founding Sár & Partners Attorneys at Law in 1998.
Csaba has since concentrated on representing companies and individuals involved in all aspects of motion picture, publishing and intellectual property matters, as well as handling collective rights management cases. He has extensive experience in advising film and television companies, and individuals in licensing intellectual property rights, and in major patent litigation pertaining to pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, he regularly deals with with enforcement in the field of musical copyright, phonogram and video/DVD publication, as well as pharmaceutical matters, and media law, telecommunication law, internet regulation and competition law.
Professional Memberships
Csaba is the Deputy Director of the Council of Copyright Experts, and member of the Hungarian Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (MIE), the Hungarian Trademark Association (MVE), the Hungarian Competition Law Association (VJE), INTA, AIPPI, LES, LIDC and ALAI Hungary. He frequently holds lectures both in Hungary and abroad in the fields of copyright law and media law, and has taught copyright law at Eötvös Loránd University’s Faculty of Law and the Academy of Applied Art, where he is a member of the strategic Advisory Committee.
Csaba is a registered attorney at law at the Budapest Bar Association.
